MEJ gives accreditations to promote the globalization of Japan’s medical services.
In order to foster the acceptance of inbound medical travelers by Japanese medical institutions, MEJ recommends hospitals that are have the desire and are working to accept inbound medical travelers as “Japan International Hospitals” and cooperates with the Japanese government to disseminate related information internationally.

An Accredited Medical Travel Assistance Company (AMTAC) is a company that is accredited as meeting the criteria shown in the guidelines set by the government’s Medical Globalization Task Force. MEJ selects companies to be AMTACs in line with the guidelines.

A JIH partner medical institution means a medical institution in an emerging economy country that wants to provide patients with more efficient and effective medical services in partnership with JIH and has met the criteria set by MEJ. In order to foster the globalization of Japan’s medical services through international medical cooperation, MEJ gives accreditations to qualified medical institutions as JIH partner medical institutions.
